Preparation:
1. Set
X-ray protector adjustment VR, R581 (on E-
Board) fully counterclockwise.
2. Set
EHT adjustment VR, R598 (on E-Board) fully
counterclockwise.
3. Connect the positive lead (+) of a DVM to TPE1
and the negative lead (-) to TPE2 (on E-Board).
4. Connect a high voltage meter between anode and
ground.
5. Set the TV to MARKET MODE (CHK3)
EHT PROTECT............ON
Procedure:
1. Receive a monoscope pattern.
2. Adjust
EHT adjustment VR, R598, until the high
voltage meter measures 34.5kV ± 0.5kV.
3. Adjust Sub Contrast or Sub Bright or Screen VR
until the DVM (ABL current) measures 1400 ±
30
µ
A.
4. Repeat step 2. ~ step 3. until the voltages mea-
sured are as specified.
5. Slowly turn the
X-ray protector adjustment VR,
R581 clockwise until the On Screen Display (OSD)
is just RED.
6. Turn the EHT adjustment VR, R598 fully counter-
clockwise.
7. Slowly turn the EHT adjustment VR, R598, clock-
wise and confirm that the X-ray protector operates
when the high voltage reaches 34.5kV ± 0.5kV.
8. Confirm that DVM (ABL current) measures 1400 ±
30
µ
A when the X-ray protector operates.
9. If the measurements in step 7. ~ step 8. do not
confirm, repeat step 2. ~ step 9.
10. Turn power off.
11. Fill sleeves with silicone and carefully place over
VR R598 & VR R581. (See Figure A.) Avoid acci-
dental changing the setting while placing the
sleeve over VRs.

Note: Allow approximately 5 minutes for silicone to
harden before turning the PTV on.
