Displayed on Protection HLU only. This minor alarm indicates that the protection line unit
has switched states and the DS1 data is transported over the protection circuit.
PROR

Remote
Displayed on Protection HLU only. This minor alarm is generated whenever the protection
line unit does not receive positive confirmation that the HRU has switched or reverted
when requested.
HBER
Excessive
HDSL Bit
Error Rate
This minor alarm is generated on either the Primary or Protection HLU whenever the HLU
determines that its current BER exceeded the minimum BER threshold set by the user.
MPRO
Manual
Protect
Mode
Displayed on Protection HLU only. Indicates that the Manual Protect mode has been
activated either from a dumb terminal or from the front panel.
MDIS
Manual
Disable
Mode
Displayed on Protection HLU only. Indicates that the Manual Disable mode has been
activated either from a dumb terminal or from the front panel.
APRO
Auto
Protect
Mode
Displayed on Protection HLU only. Indicates that Auto Protect mode has been activated
from either an ASCII terminal or from the front panel. This mode enables the HLU to
execute the “monitor” and “switched” state functions.
AHLD
Auto Hold
Mode
Displayed on Protection HLU only. Same as APRO mode (above) except that PROTECT
circuit remains on-line (non-reverting) once switchover occurs.
NORM
Normal
Mode
Displayed on Protection HLU only. Indicates the Protection system capability is disabled
and the HiGain units are operating as two separate “Normal” unprotected units.
