PLACING BOAT in CRADLE
for WINTER STORAGE
It is important to correctly position any boat in its cradle. Incorrect procedure can cause distortion of the
hull and possibly internal damage. The correct position for each boat is listed at the end of this memo.
The following are general guide lines for any Paceship Cruising Boat:
1. Use only the correct cradle for each model.
2. Position the boat correctly fore and aft using the dimensions given.
3. Place wedges under the keel on P-23 and Bluejacket, and under the forward part
of the hull just ahead of the centerboard opening. Most of the weight should be taken
at the centerline of the boat and the remainder by the side supports.
4. Make sure the cradle has padding on the side supports and there are no nails to
scratch the hull.
5. If there are under water fillings such as hull speed indicators, be careful when
placing the boat in the cradle.
6. The boat should be stored on level ground. If this is not possible, block the cradle
up so it is level. If this is not done, the cradle may twist and exert more pressure In
one area.
