Kabel Digital
Carrying out a network scan
There are two types of scan your set-top box can
perform:
●
NIT scan:
This uses a Kabel Deutschland
‘
N
etwork
I
nformation
T
able’ to scan
automatically for channels. You do not need
to change any settings for this scan.
●
Linear scan:
If your set-top box cannot find
the ‘Network Information Table’, for
example if your cable service provider uses
different settings, you can carry out a linear
scan.
You cannot choose which scan you want to carry
out. You can only carry out a linear scan if your
set-top box cannot find the ‘Network Information
Table’.
To start a network scan, first display the Network
Scan screen (see page 37). Then press the
blue
button. The Network Scan Setup Details screen
displays:
This screen shows the settings which your set-top
box uses to perform the network scan.
NIT SCAN
To carry out an NIT scan, you do not need to
change any of the settings on the Network Scan
Setup Details screen, because they are the correct
settings for the Kabel Deutschland network.
On the Network Scan Setup Details screen, press
OK
to start the NIT scan. The message ‘NIT
analysis’ displays. When your set-top box finds
the ‘Network Information Table’, your set-top box
starts scanning for channels. A screen displays to
show you the progress of the scan.
When the scan is complete, the screen displays
the number of TV and radio channels found. Press
the
OK
button to save all the channels that were
found. The Network Scan screen displays. Press
Esc/TV
to remove the menus. You can now tune to
the new channels.
