Safety instructions
General
The rotary mower may only be used by adults trained in its operation, and who have
read the manual and are qualified for the task. The mower must be operated
pursuant to all safety regulations, particularly the following:
•
In addition to the manual’s guidelines, occupational health and safety laws must be
complied with.
•
Take note of the mower’s warning symbols.
•
It is strictly forbidden to use the mower while under the influence of alcohol or other
substances.
•
Never let anyone other than the mower’s driver operate the tractor and under no
circumstances may any other persons stand or sit on the tractor or the mower when it
is operating.
•
The mower may only be operated by persons who are authorised to drive the tractor
(according to its manual).
•
The driver’s workplace is the tractor cab when the machine is operating.
•
Please note that the mower has many components which can cause personal injury
(sharp edges, protruding elements, etc.). Be particularly cautious when moving around
or near the critical elements and wear personal protective gear at all times, such as
protective clothing, gloves and safety shoes.
•
Using the mower to transport persons or objects is forbidden.
•
It is forbidden to use the machine if the user has not read the manual.
•
A first-aid kit, including instructions for its use, should be available in the tractor cab.
•
When transporting the mower, make sure it has an adequate transport clearance
height of ~0.4 m.
•
Before beginning the transport, set the mower in the transport position on the
tractor’s three-point linkage. Lower the mower for parking.
•
Show particular caution when driving on public roads and obey traffic regulations at all
times.
•
When driving on a public road it is important to switch on the lights. Therefore, make
sure they are in working order and are visible and keep them clean. The driver is under
an obligation to make sure that the mower is visible during transport: use reflectors
and warning signs. Adapt the transport speed to the road conditions but never exceed
15 km/h.
•
Never leave the tractor unattended on a slope or other incline without making sure
that the tractor cannot roll by itself. Lower the mower to the ground and use wedges
to keep it in place on the ground.
