Use of extensions
Attachments and non-standard sockets will change the torque in relation to the set
torque. Therefore the set torque must be adjusted, cf. the formula below for when
you use these.
Using the torque wrench
1.
Attach a suitable socket on the square ratchet head of the torque wrench and attach to
the fastener that shall be tightened.
2.
Apply force on the handle and ONLY ON THE HANDLE. You can support the torque
wrench by the socket using your other hand to stabilise it, especially when a long
socket extension is used, without appreciably affecting the torque wrench’s precision.
3.
If it is necessary to use both hands, place your other hand over your first hand and
never anywhere else on the torque wrench.
4.
Apply force slowly and evenly until the torque wrench momentarily releases with or
without an audible “click”. Stop applying force at this point in time. NEVER OVER-
TORQUE!
WARNING
Over-torqued or damaged fasteners, sockets and the torque wrench itself can
suddenly break, causing you to lose your balance, fall over or cause some other undesirable
outcome. Ensure at all times that you have a secure foothold and a good balance and if
necessary use a suitable back support or other safety equipment.
Maintenance
1.
When the torque wrench is not being used, set it to the lowest setting and store it in
the accompanying storage box.
2.
The ratchet mechanism is the only part of the torque wrench that requires lubrication.
The ratchet mechanism can be lubricated as required with a couple of drops of oil.
We reserve the right to change the technical parameters and specifications of this product without prior notification.
