OPERATION
•
Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut
material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the
switch is off when clearing jammed material.
A moment of inattention while
operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury.
•
Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. When
transporting or storing the hedge trimmer always fit the cutting device cover.
Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce possible personal injury from the
cutter blades.
•
Keep cable away from cutting area.
During operation the cable may be hidden
in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by the blade.
•
Recommendation for the use of a residual current device with a tripping
current of 30 mA or less.
Assembling the safety guard
First ensure the unit is disconnected from the power supply.
Assemble the safety guard over the hedge trimmer housing the same as shown in the
line drawing on page 2.
Secure the guard by fixing two screws through the guard into the hedge trimmer housing.
The safety guard must be fitted prior to using the hedge trimmer for the first time.
Cord retainer
The extension lead being used can be fitted
through the cord retainer on the hedge
trimmer which prevents the extension lead
being disconnected from the unit during use.
Switching on
For your safety the Hedge Trimmer is designed with a two handed safety switch. If only
one switch is squeezed, the tool will not operate.
This ensures both hands are on the tool body during use. It prevents accidental start
up and also keeps both hands away from the blades during operation.
To turn the Hedge Trimmer ON, squeeze the front handle switch and then the rear
handle switch.
Switching off
To turn the Hedge Trimmer OFF, simply release either switch.
