CHARGING YOUR LITHIUM ION BATTERY (cont.)
10
•
If the battery (5) does not charge properly:
- Check current at mains power outlet by plugging in a lamp or other appliance.
- If charging problems persist, have the complete tool checked by an electrician or
a power tool repairer.
•
If the light on the charger cradle (11) fails to come illuminate:
- Check the charging adaptor (10) is securely plugged into the wall outlet and is
switched on.
- Check that the battery (5) is firmly seated onto the charger cradle (11).
- Check that the charger jack (12) is securely connected into the charger cradle (11)
socket.
Thermal Voltage Protection Indication
In the event that the thermal or voltage protection circuit has been activated the
battery will cease to operate. This can happen when the tool has been used for
extended periods or worked hard with large drill bits or accessories.
If you place the battery (5) in the charger the LED Lights will illuminate giving the
appearance that the battery (5) is fully charged. Leave the battery (5) on the charger to
charge for 3 -5 hours.
The battery (5) may take the full 5 hours to charge, as the battery may need to cool
down or the protection circuits to be reset. This will allow the charger to begin
charging the battery and resume normal operation.
Always ensure the forward/reverse lever (4) is in the lock position before
removing or inserting the battery (5). By pushing the forward/reverse lever (4)
into the middles of both forward and reverse the variable speed switch (9) will be
in the lock position.
Installing the Battery
•
Holding the drill upright and picking up the battery (5)
in your opposite hand. Insert the battery (5) until it clicks
into place (see Fig. 3).
•
Do not use excessive force when inserting the battery
(5). If the battery (5) does not slide in easily, it is not
being inserted correctly and could cause damage to the
battery (5), battery terminals or the drill.
•
Do not operate the variable speed switch (9) whilst
inserting the battery.
Removing the Battery
Depress the battery release button (6) and pull the battery (5) down away from the drill.
