convenient connection to the Oximiser 900 when required. The leads provided are
supplied with a weatherproof cap to ensure that the connections do not become
corroded.
Note: The advanced electronic programming of the Oximiser 900 makes it impossible
to create any sparks which could otherwise ignite the gases of a battery. It is also
impossible to cause a short circuit or sparks from the battery clamps/crocodile clips as
the unit returns to STANDBY if it is not connected to a battery.
(D) HOW TO START THE CHARGING PROCESS
1. Read the digital display to ensure that the Oximiser 900 has been connected
correctly to the battery connections. If the red warning light is flashing, it means
that the positive and negative leads need to be swapped over. If the red warning
light is lit but not flashing, then it means that the battery voltage is too low and the
charger should be disconnected from the battery.
2. As soon as the mains power is turned on, the Oximiser 900 will start charging
automatically. The charging process can be interrupted by switching off the mains
power and then disconnecting the leads.
3. The Oximiser 900 will automatically test, charge and maintain the battery so long
as it is connected to the battery.
4. The digital display shows the voltage and charge rate in Amps/hour. When the
Oximiser 900 has been connected for some time and it has entered the MAINTAIN
mode, it will be normal for the digital display to read 0.00A. This shows that the
charger is not charging the battery because it is now fully charged. The float
voltage of the battery will still be shown even if there is no charge current so as to
inform the user of the condition of the battery.
