• The drivers for the PCIe card must be installed manually by the user as they are not part of the SDK installation.
Refer to the instructions on the driver CD supplied with the USB 3 Card.
• Power management in the Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller must be disabled. To do this:
1. Navigate to ‘Renesas USB 3.0 Host Controller’ properties menu in
Device Manager
(Control Panel>Device
Manager> Universal Serial Bus Controllers).
2. Select the
Advanced
tab.
3. Check the
Disable USB 3.0 power management functions
checkbox as shown in the screenshot above.

Enter the BIOS menu when starting PC. For Dell workstations, press F12 at start-up and select System Setup in the One
Time Boot Menu. For Dell workstations 3 options in the Performance menu of the BIOS need to be checked/set:
• C-States Control – Disable C-States
• Intel Speed-step – Disable Speed-step
• Memory Node Interleaving – Set from NUMA to SMP. Note: This option is only available on larger workstations with 2
physical processors and may have a different name- ensure that NUMA is disabled.
