multimode fiber optic light source. This quick reference guide provides instructions for performing a fiber optic insertion loss
test.
There are four main parts to performing an insertion loss test:

gather accessories;
PART 3
check the additional power meter test cable; and
Note: this procedure assumes the fiber cable under test is properly installed with a patch panel at each end of the link, which allows
technicians to use the industry-recommended 1-jumper reference method.
PART 4
take measurements.
