3.3 Functional description
The “Unibox T RTL” is intended for individual
room temperature control and for limiting the
return temperature for a surface temperature
balance.
The integrated thermostatic valve is equipped
with a presettable valve insert and thus enables
the flow rate to be accurately adapted to the
required heat demand (see chart in the appen-
dix) and hydraulic balancing to be carried out.
The installation position of the “Unibox T
RTL” should be chosen so that fluid flows first
through the heating circuit and then through the
“Unibox T RTL” valve. The heating fluid cools
down between the entry point to the heating
surface and reaching the “Unibox T RTL”. The
flow rate is controlled by the sensor element
located in the volume flow. The self-acting
thermostat controls the desired room tempera-
ture. The temperature of the surface tempera-
ture balance can be corrected by turning the
handwheel of the return temperature limiter
(see 3.4.1 on page 28). The desired room
temperature can be set by turning the hand-
wheel of the automatic thermostat.
3.4 Operating elements
3.4.1 Return temperature limiter
You can set the desired fluid temperature for
the surface temperature balance with the hand-
wheel. The return temperature limiter integrated
in the valve detects the fluid temperature being
transported and opens and closes the valve
accordingly.
The recommended control range is
between approximately 25 °C and
approximately 40 °C.
