B. Clearances to Combustibles
When selecting a location for the appliance it is important
to consider the required clearances to walls (see Figure
3.2).
WARNING! Risk of Fire or Burns!
Provide adequate
clearance around air openings and for service access.
Due to high temperatures, the appliance should be lo-
cated out of traffic and away from furniture and draperies.

C. Constructing the Appliance Enclosure
Note:
Take drainage into consideration when building
enclosure.
• The appliance enclosure must be made entirely of non-
combustible materials such as metal studs and cement
board.
• Minimum enclosure dimensions. See Figure 3.2.
• The gas valves must be located on the outside of
enclosure or in an optional box and easily accessible.
• Construction materials must be non-combustible if closer
than the minimum clearances shown in Figure 3.2.
