Information for Installation
Your extraction hood can be used in circulating air or extraction mode.
Circulating air mode
In circulating air mode, the kitchen vapours are sucked in and, after purification,
discharged to the room air through the upper air discharge apertures. Purification
is carried out by the grease filter and also by the carbon filter (odour filter with
activated carbon; not in the scope of delivery).
Advantage:
Simple installation
Disadvantage: With increasing contamination of the carbon filter, the
purification and extraction effects recede. Depending on the use,
the carbon filter must be replaced approximately every three
months.
Extraction mode
In extraction mode the kitchen vapours are sucked in, purified by the grease filter
and discharged to the atmosphere through an exhaust air hose (not in the scope
of delivery).
Advantage:
Carbon filter not required, unpleasant odours are always very
low.
Disadvantage: Wall breakthrough (core drilling), 15.5 cm diameter with
applicable hose connection required. Operation of open
fireplaces in the same room is only possible to a limited extent
(refer to Safety information, page 6).
Important!
If you should decide on the extraction mode and do not have a
connection option for the hose yet, we recommend that you contact
a specialist firm to make the wall breakthrough. If open fires are also
operated in the same room, before installation seek advice from the
local official heating inspector about the local regulations.
If you are a tenant, approval of the owner is required.
It is imperative to observe the safety information, pages 4-6. The
connection for the exhaust air hose must be completed before
the subsequently described installation.
To bridge longer distances to the outside, an external motor can be installed in
the exhaust duct. Consult a specialist electrical firm.
