4.3 Storage
Store the product in a dry, enclosed room with sufficient air circulation and protection from external influences.
Specific information about storage conditions: see page 40.
Maintain sufficient clearance from sources of heat.
Direct exposure to sunlight or UV radiation causes materials to harden and the product to age more quickly. When
storing the product, do not expose it to direct sunlight or UV light.
5 Preparing the product for use
5.1 Assembly
5.1.1 Attaching/detaching the seating unit

Failure to secure the seating unit when attaching it
User falling, tipping or falling out of the seating unit due to it not being secured or parts coming loose

Before attaching and removing the seating unit and before the user gets in or out, always engage the wheel
lock on the outdoor mobility base/seating shell mobility base. Check the braking function.

When attaching the seating unit, always make sure it engages audibly in the outdoor mobility base/seating
shell mobility base.
►
Secure the seating unit using the seat lock.

When detaching, attaching or adjusting the product, fold the lateral supports in so that they do not come into
contact with the outdoor mobility base.
a) Setting the direction the seating unit faces
The seating unit may face in one of two directions when mounted on the outdoor mobility base/seating shell mobil
ity base:
•
In the direction of travel (see fig. 1, example for Kimba outdoor mobility base)
•
Opposite to the direction of travel (see fig. 2, example for Kimba outdoor mobility base)

b) Attaching the seating unit
1) First place the seating unit on the rear tube of the seat adapter at an angle of
approx. 45°
(see fig. 3).
2) Press the front edge of the seat onto the mobility base until the retaining claw audibly snaps on to the front tube
of the seat adapter (see fig. 4).
3) Slide the seat lock to the left to engage it (see fig. 5, item 1). The green symbol shows that the seating unit is
locked (see fig. 5, item 2).
4) Check that the seating unit and the outdoor mobility base are securely connected by pulling back the back sup
port.

The seating unit should remain firmly attached to the outdoor mobility base.
