Bench alignment process
Observe the adapter instructions for use during adaptation and
installation.
Sagittal alignment:
Determine the centre of the prosthetic socket with the 50:50
gauge.
Align the prosthetic socket centrally to the alignment reference line.
Socket flexion:
Residual limb flexion of the p 5°
Frontal plane
Alignment reference line of prosthetic foot:
between big toe and
second toe
Alignment reference line of prosthetic socket:
along the lateral
patella edge
Observe the abduction or adduction position.
a – p positioning, middle of the prosthetic foot
Foot size [cm]
Mid-foot anterior to the alignment reference line
23 to 27
10 mm to 15 mm
TF bench alignment
►
Observe the information in the prosthetic knee joint instructions for use.
5.2.2 Static Alignment
•
Ottobock recommends checking the alignment of the prosthesis using
the L.A.S.A.R. Posture and adapting it as needed.
•
If necessary, the alignment recommendations (TF modular leg pros
theses:
646F219*
, TT modular leg prostheses:
646F336*
) may be
requested from Ottobock.
5.2.3 Dynamic Trial Fitting
•
Adapt the setup of the prosthesis in the frontal plane and the sagittal
plane (e.g. by making angle or slide adjustments) so that correct heel
contact and optimal roll-over are ensured.
•
TT fittings:
Make sure that physiological knee movement is achieved
after the heel makes impact and the leg begins to bear weight.
5.3 Optional: Installing the foam cover
A connecting element (such as a connection plate, connection cap or foam
connection cap) provides a detachable connection between the foam cover
and the prosthetic foot.
