Automatic Features
In the Automatics section you can enable or disable the
Automatics in Chili instruments.
Directionality:
For users with moderately-severe to profound
hearing losses, the automatic directionality system is pre-
scribed as a dual-mode solution: Surround (omni) and Split
directionality *
The Tri-mode solution that includes Full directionality is avail-
able as an option in the directionality control.
noise Management:
As default the noise Management is set
to Moderate. A further attenuation of 3 dB (Maximum) is avail-
able as an option in the noise Management control.
This automatic feature can also be switched off.
Binaural Broadband:
Controls the synchronisation between
the two hearing instruments. Binaural Broadband is default
on. If disabled this will also disable the binaural coordination of
push button operations.
*
Split Directionality
(HF directionality): The Surround mode
is kept at the LF band such that sufficient LF gain is present.
The upper three bands are in Full directionality in order to at-
tenuate up to three separate noise sources.
More tools
Acoustics:
Verify that the settings of Vent, Hook and Tubing is equal to
the actual earmould vent, hook and tubing/insert.
Feedback Manager:
The greater the hearing loss, the higher the risk of feedback.
Therefore, Genie sets the Feedback Manager at a suitable level
to prevent feedback when you enter the Fitting step.
Measure feedback and adjust the feedback limits in the Feed-
back Manager. Compare previous and current feedback limits.
Run the Feedback Manager from P1. The feedback limits will
be applied to all programs in the hearing instrument.
When you go back to Controls in Fitting the current feedback
limits will be available at the curves displaying simulated in-
sertion gain and gain, 2cc when clicking on the ‘Show feedback
limit’ button between the right and the left graphs (marked
with a key note).
