IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to 

reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following: 

1.   Read all instructions before using this product. 

2.   To protect against electric shock, do not place or immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water 

or other liquid. 

3.   This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, 

sensory or mental capabilities are reduced or lack of experience or knowledge, unless such 

persons are supervised or trained to operate the appliance by a person responsible for their 

safety. Close supervision is necessary if you use the appliance near children or people with 

disabilities. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 

4.   Turn any control to OFF, then unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking 

off parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull 

from the power cord. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. 

5.   Flashing light indicates ready to operate (models with stand-by mode). Avoid any contact 

with blades or moveable parts. 

6.   Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance 

malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Take the appliance to the nearest

 Appliance Service Center for examination, repair or electrical or 

mechanical adjustment. 

7.   For appliances with markings on plug blade: This appliance has important markings on the 

plug blade. The attachment plug or entire cordset (if plug is molded onto cord) is not suitable 

for replacement. If damaged, the appliance shall be replaced. 

8.   The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer 

may cause fire, electric shock or injury. 

9.   Do not use outdoors or for commercial purposes. 

10.  Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces, including the stove. 

11.  When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small quantities at a 

time to reduce spillage. 

12.  Keep hands, hair, clothing and utensils out of the container while blending to prevent the 

possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit. A scraper may be used but must 

be used only when the unit is not running. 

13.  Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. 

14.  Do not use appliance for other than intended use. Misuse can cause injuries. Always use 

appliance on a dry, stable, level surface. 

15.  After each operation, allow the hand blender to cool for 3 minutes before using it again. 

16.  Do not process food containing hard objects that cannot be safely broken up by the blade. 

17.  To protect against fire, do not operate the appliance in the presence of explosive and/or 

flammable fumes. 

18.  This appliance should not be used in the immediate vicinity of water, such as bathtubs, 

washbowls, swimming pools, etc., where the likelihood of immersion or splashing could 

occur. 

19.  Do not place appliance on or near a hot burner or in a heated oven. 

20.  Do not use over a stove or other heat source. When mixing soups or other hot foods or 

liquids, remove the saucepan from the heat source before using the hand blender. 

21.  This immersion blender is not intended to chop ice. Add ice to beverage after mixing.
