5. HANDLING AND TRANSPORT
Packaging
The machine is normally delivered in a
wooden crate (Fig. 2), designed to be lifted
by a forklift truck of a suitable capacity. The
machine is wrapped in heat-s hrunk nyl on
for added protection. Weight of packaged
machine: model STEAM FORCE 20 Kg. 151
TRANSPORT
The machine must be positioned carefully
and anchored to the deck of the lorry by
means of cables.
The type o f ancho rage required depends
on the packaging and vehicle us ed. The
gros s weight, top/bottom position and
required lifting systems are clearly marked
on the packaging.
Handling the machine when packaged
Failure to fo llow t he manufact usrer’s
instructions on handling and installation of
the machine can cause it to tip o ver o r fall
dur ing transport, causing ser ious injury due
to impact and crushing.
Insert the forks of the transpallet (Fig . 3)
or forklift truck (F ig. 4) beneath the crate.
Make sure they are positioned correctly with
respect to the centre of gravity.
Raise the machine slowly, checking the
weight distribution to prevent it from tipping
up or falling off, which would caus e serious
injury to the operator or damage to the
machine.
