FEATURE DETAILS & INSTRUCTIONS

INTERNAL COMPRESSION

40L | 65L

Internal compression straps help secure clothes and gear while taking stress off of
the zip closure for a more secure, waterproof seal. Unnecessary stress on the zip
may compromise its watertight seal over time.

1  After filling your pack with gear, locate the four compression straps, located

  inside the main compartment.

2  Connect the buckles together over the top of your packed gear.

3  Tighten compression by pulling on the buckle webbing.

4  Zip the compartment closed.

  +

The zipper should operate easily. If the zipper binds due to tension,

you may need to pull the compression straps tighter or remove some

gear to allow a smooth and secure zip closure.

ZIPPER OPERATION

40L | 65L

In order to achieve the maximum waterproof seal, it is important to get a complete
zip closure. Failure to zip the closure completely will result in water leakage.

1  Make sure the zip closure is free from any clothes, gear or debris.

  +

Clipping and tightening the internal compression buckles can help

contain gear, prevent it from obstructing the zipper and make zipper

operation easier. Failure to cinch the internal compression

may reduce the lifespan of the zip closure.

2  Grasping the web grab loop on the end of the bag with one hand and the

zip pull with the other, slide the zipper across the pack. Close the zipper

slowly and steadily. Don’t yank. If there is resistance, check for obstructions,

  clear and continue.

3  At the end of the zipper, you should feel resistance as the slider moves over

the seal and closes the small gap at the end.

4  Gently press on the pack to verify that you have an airtight seal. If you feel

the pack decompress as you add pressure, inspect the zipper and

make sure it is fully closed.

ZIPPER UPKEEP

40L | 65L

The zipper teeth, the end seal and the zipper slider need to be kept clean to
allow proper function. On a trip, periodic rinsing and wiping dry is recommended.
The zipper should be maintained as necessary with a lubricant/cleaner like YKK
ZippyCool or paraffin wax.
