.hvd: Special distribution transformers,
series 52 and 72.5 kV

Connect the special distribution transformer's tank to
earth, earthing its diff erent connections using round
connection terminals for a regulation section cable.
Tools:
• Standard cross-section earthing cable.
• Round terminals of suitable diameter.
• 1 M12 bolt (M10 bolt to order).
• Two 14 mm (12 mm for M10) washers (one for each
side of the connection terminal).
Apply a torque of 40-60 Nm for M12 (25-35 Nm for
M10).

Risk of causing irreversible damage to the machine.
• The tightening torques must guarantee the proper
electrical contact of the connections.

Connect the special distribution transformer to the
Medium Voltage circuit (MV). Use fl exible connections
which do not place any strain on the special distribution
transformer bushings, suffi ciently sized to prevent
excessive overheating and, at the same time, allow for
the expansion caused by heat without damaging the
transformer.

Connect the special distribution transformer to the Low
Voltage (LV) circuit. Use fl exible connections that do not
place any strain on the special distribution transformer
bushings.Their size must be enough to prevent
excessive overheating and, at the same time, allow for
the expansion caused by heat without damaging the
machine.
10.
Check that it is in the correct position; in the case of a
multi-voltage special distribution transformer, ensure
that the Medium Voltage (MV) winding is connected to
the electrical voltage that is going to be used as service
voltage.
