3. Insert the wood chip tray (D) over the
heating element (C).
4. Push the drip tray (H) into the railings
(I) and place a grille (G) over the drip
tray.
5. The appliance is now assembled and
ready for use.
BEFORE USE
Place the appliance outdoors on a flat,
stable and heat-resistant surface.
Plug the appliance in and allow it to heat
up for at least 20 minutes to burn off any
grease or oil residues from the manufac-
turing process.
There may be a small amount of smoke
and a slight smell.
This is completely normal, and the
smoke/smell will soon disappear.
Wash the wood chip tray, the drip tray and
the grilles in warm soapy water before
use.
SUITABLE WOOD CHIPS
Wood chips from most fruit or nut trees
can be used for smoking. Try, for ex-
ample, wood chips from apple or cherry
trees, or buy imported wood chips from
pecan, hickory or mesquite trees. Do not
use wood chips from trees with resin, as
this gives the food an unpleasant taste.
USE
1. Place the appliance outdoors on a
flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.
2. Half fill the wood chip tray (D) with
suitable dry wood chips and place
it over the heating element. Do
not place wood chips directly on
the heating element, as the wood
chips may ignite and so damage the
heating element.
