2.1 About Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine

Business Intelligence Machine is an engineered solution that includes a memory-
centric hardware platform, proven in-memory technology from Oracle TimesTen, and
the breadth of Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite functionality. Business
Intelligence Machine enables Oracle Business Intelligence software users to gain
quick insight, make better decisions, and take immediate actions. For system
administrators, the pre-engineered system simplifies the process of setting up and
maintaining an enterprise-level, high-performance Business Intelligence
implementation. It eliminates the risk associated with procuring the system
infrastructure from multiple vendors. Oracle's technology is designed to scale
seamlessly from small departmental installations to large scale enterprise Business
Intelligence deployments.

Sun Oracle Database Machine combines the reliability of quality servers with the
capabilities of Exadata Storage Servers. Sun Oracle Database Machine is optimized
for use with Oracle Database and Oracle Exadata Storage Server Software, delivering
breakthrough performance and scalability for enterprise data warehousing.

Sun Oracle Database Machine is a complete, pre-optimized, and pre-configured
package of software, servers, and storage. After a simple and fast installation, Sun
Oracle Database Machine is ready to handle your business queries immediately out of
the box.

Sun Oracle Database Machine is available in two configurations, Sun Oracle Database
Machine Full Rack and Sun Oracle Database Machine Half Rack.

2.2 Hardware Configuration
