Use a consistent color code from power supply to all Optomux units to prevent wiring errors. Size 18
AWG is recommended for power supply wiring. Optomux demo equipment uses the following
colors:
CAUTION: If brain boards are powered up and serial lines are left floating or are connected to RS-485
adapter card without proper biasing, the RX and TX LED lights may float to an unknown state. This may
cause confusion as to the actual state of the communication lines and the proper operation of the brain
board. We recommend checking to make sure that the communication lines have the proper biasing and
termination resistors installed at the two ends of the RS-485 network.
