CONNECTIONS
You can listen to your CD player by
connecting stereo earphones or am-
plified speakers to the player’s
PHONES
jack, or by connecting the
player’s
LINE OUT
jack to a home au-
dio or car stereo system. Your local
RadioShack store carries a variety of
earphones, amplified speakers, cas-
sette adapters, cable adapters, and
audio patch cables.
Notes:
• If you use the CD player’s
PHONES
jack, use the CD
player’s
VOLUME
control (and
the volume control of the ampli-
fied speakers) to adjust the vol-
ume.
• If you use the CD player’s
LINE
OUT
jack, use the home audio
or car stereo system’s volume
control to adjust the volume.

For private listening, plug a pair of
stereo earphones with a

(not supplied) into the CD player’s
PHONES
jack.
Listening Safely
To protect your hearing, follow these
guidelines when you use earphones.
• Set the volume to the lowest
setting before you begin listen-
ing. After you begin listening,
adjust the volume to a comfort-
able level.
