CHANGING THE AM/FM BAND STEP 
RATE

Your radio’s AM/FM band is preset to tune
in 10 kHz increments for AM and 100 kHz
for FM — the standard frequency steps for
radio frequencies in the United States. If
you travel to other countries where the step
rate is 9 kHz for AM and 50 kHz for FM (Eu-
rope, for example), you can set your radio
to tune in those increments by following
these steps.

1. Open the battery compartment and

remove the batteries.
