Sharpener selector
NB:
To familiarise yourself with the appliance, we
suggest that you try sharpening an old tool. Shar-
pening items incorrectly may damage the blade.
USE
–
Make sure that the sharpener is completely dry and free
of grease.
–
Place the appliance on a flat surface. Plug the appliance
into a mains socket.

Turn the sharpener selector (2) in order to select the
type of tool to be sharpened. Move the selector until
the reference mark (white dot with the symbol of the
tool) is positioned at the top of the appliance.
Warning:
The symbol <=> is reserved for
removing the sharpener selector
(2)
. Do not
select this symbol for sharpening a tool.

Holding the appliance with your left hand, press
the Start/Stop button (1) with your left thumb: the
whetstone starts turning. The appliance stops when
you release the button.

Holding the tool to be sharpened in your right hand,
position it in the appropriate slot. Move the blade from
the base towards the point, using a constant pressure.
The sharpening process must not be stopped suddenly,
and the pressure applied on the tool must not change:
otherwise, this could cause notches on the blade.
If necessary, incline the blade slightly in the slot in order
to adjust the position of the blade with respect to the
whetstone.
Note:
The sharpener selector
(2)
has a slight
play, allowing you to adjust the blade on the
whetstone.
Unplug the appliance after each use.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
– Clean the outside with a damp cloth.
CAUTION:
Never immerse the appliance
in water or any type of liquid.
– If necessary, brush the whetstone using a dry brush.
In order to reach the whetstone, turn the sharpener
selector (2) so that the <=> reference mark is on the top
of the appliance, then pull on the sharpener selector to
remove it.
WARNING:
Never moisten or lubricate the
whetstone.
