Magnetic attachment

CAUTION!

Risk of material damage and personal injury!

If the workpiece is less than 12 mm thick, the workpiece can detach itself from the mag-
net and injure people. The material thickness of the workpiece must be at least 12 mm.

The workpiece is fixed on a permanent magnet with a lever to relieve the magnetic attraction
force.

Check the secure attachment and holding force of your workpiece on the magnet before the
surface grinding process.

4.6

Switching on the machine

The protective cover of the grinding wheel must be closed so that the grinding wheel drive can
be started.

Let the machine run warm



Warming up the machine on page 27

Close and screw the protective cover of the grinding wheel.

Switch on the main switch.

Check that the emergency stop button is not pressed or unlocked. Turn the emergency stop
button to the right in order to release the push button.

4.6.1

Switching the grinding wheel on

CAUTION!

Ensure that the grinding wheel is located at a sufficient distance above the workpiece
before you start surface grinding.

Was the grinding wheel balanced ?



Balancing the grinding wheel on page 33

Switch on the spindle drive of the grinding wheel.

At the beginning, slowly move the table towards the grinding wheel using the hand wheel.

Use the other hand wheel to feed the grinding wheel towards the workpiece. Then use the
digital readout to set the Z axis to zero.

4.7

Switching the machine off

Turn off the main switch.

Switch off the surface grinding machine at the main switch in case of a longer standstill and
secure the machine against being switched on again.



 Switching off and securing the

surface grinding machine on page 15

4.8

Resetting an emergency stop condition

First move the grinding wheel out of the danger zone with the hand wheels.

Unlock the emergency stop button again.

Switch on the spindle drive of the grinding wheel.
