Grip Spool Cover (1) firmly and

squeeze the two tabs on the Spool 

Cover.
Pull Spool Cover off Line Spool and

then pull Line Spool from housing.  

Make sure the Spool Spring (3) stays 

connected to housing.  See 

Figure D

When replacing Spool, clean any dirt,

dead grass and debris from Spool 

Cover. 
Thread end of cutting line from re-

placement spool through eyelet on 

Spool Cover.

Push replacement Spool firmly onto 

6. 

Housing and over Spool Spring.
Fit Spool Cover over replacement 

7. 

spool and push down until it snaps 

into place.  Verify that Spool Cover is 

held securely in place by the tabs.
Once new spool is in place, remove 

8. 

Blade Cover.  Activate the Trimmer 

and then the auto-feed mechanism, 

which will adjust for the correct cut-

ting length.  

please note:

If Nylon Line breaks 

while inside Spool Cover, the auto-

feed function will not work and Nylon 

Line will need to be re-adjusted by 

hand.

To replace broken nylon line, first 

10. 

follow previous steps 1-3.  You will 

notice a plastic band is fitted around 

the Line Spool to contain the Nylon 

Line.
Press down on plastic band and 

11. 

squeeze it off of Line Spool.  See 

Figure E

Recover the end of the Nylon Line 

12. 

and thread it through one of the two 

slots on the plastic band.
Slide the plastic band over the Line

Spool, making sure not to cut the 

Nylon Line.
Thread the end of cutting line through

eyelet on Spool Cover.
Follow previous steps 6-7 to replace
