Quick Test Procedure
1. Required Equipment
•
CAT87xEVAL Board
•
+5 V
DC
Voltage Supply
•
Oscilloscope
2. Set-up
•
Verify that All the Power Supplies are Off
•
Connect the +5 V
DC
Supply between the VDD
and GND Test Points of the CAT871EVAL
Board
•
Connect an Oscilloscope Probe to the RESET
Test Point
•
Connect an Oscilloscope Probe to the T_MR1
Test Point
•
Connect an Oscilloscope Probe to the T_MR2
Test Point
•
Turn on the +5 V
DC
Voltage Supply
3. Operation Verification
•
Verify that the RESET Signal is Pulled High to
+5 V
DC
•
Press the MR1 Button, MR1 Signal Should Go
to GND on the Oscilloscope
•
Press the MR2 Button, MR2 Signal Should Go
to GND on the Oscilloscope
•
Press and Hold Down Buttons MR1 and MR2
•
Verify that the RESET Signal Low Pulse is
Generated after Three Seconds
•
Verify the Pulse width of the RESET Signal is
about 2.2 ms for CAT871 (70 ms for CAT872)
•
Release Button MR1. The RESET Pulse Should
not be Generated Anymore
•
Release Buttons MR1 and MR2
•
Turn off the +5 V

4. Start/Stop the Demonstration
•
At any Time the User Can Stop the
Demonstration by Releasing Both Push-buttons
and then Turning off the +5 V
