5.3 Inserting batteries into the hand-held microphones
1 Unscrew the screw cap at the lower end of the microphones.
CAUTION!
Danger of explosion when battery is replaced improperly.
Only replace by the same type or similar types recommended by the manufacturer.
Remove empty battery in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer.
2 Insert a 9 V battery each as indicated in the battery compartment.
3 If the gain adjustments have been made, screw on the caps (chapter 6).
BATTERY DISPOSAL NOTICE
Please dispose of discharged batteries properly.
Batteries are hazardous waste and should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste!
Please take discharged batteries to a collection center near you.
4 With a new battery, the microphones can be operated for approx. 6 hours. If the battery indicator "LOW
BAT" lights up the battery is exhausted end must be replaced.
5 If the microphones are not used for a longer period (approx. 1-2 weeks), please remove the batteries to
prevent damage in case of battery leakage.
Please also refer to the explanations in chapter Safety Instructions.
6 OPERATION
1 Switch on the receiver with the power switch. The display indicates the preset transmission channels
and frequencies.
2 To switch on the hand-held microphones, set the individual on/off switch to position “PWR“. The power
indicator lights. If it fails to light up, a new battery must be inserted.
If the reception of the radio signal is of sufficient power, the display shows the reception indication ("A" or
"B") for each channel. The indication HF shows the reception quality; the more segments are displayed,
the better is the reception.
For optimum receiving:
• maintain a line-of-sight between the microphones and receiver antennas.
• make sure the distance between the microphones and the receiver is not too long.
• make sure the reception is not disturbed by objects in the transmission path; avoid placing the
microphones and the receiver where metal or other dense materials may be present and computers or
other HF-generating equipment (min. 50 cm distance).
• make sure the batteries of the hand-held microphone are always sufficiently charged.
3 Switch on the following audio unit (e.g. amplifier or mixer).
4 Speak into each microphone and match the output level of the receiver to the input of the following unit
with the respective level control.
The volume of the audio signal received is shown on the display by the volume indication AF; the more
segments are displayed, the higher is the volume level. If the receiver is overloaded by a volume on a
microphone which is too high "OVER" lights up.
5 The input amplification of each microphone is variably adjustable with the respective gain control. Thus,
the volume level of the microphones can be readjusted. For gain adjustment, remove the screw cap.
Reduce gain if the volume of the microphone signal is too high and thus distorted (indication "OVER").
Increase gain if the volume is too low and a poor S/N ratio results.
6 To mute a microphone during operation, set the mute switch to its lower position "MUTE". Then no
sound will be transmitted.
7 After operation switch off the receiver and the microphones.
