1 Features
The unit MEG-27, is a powerful megaphone which can alternatively be operated with batteries
or an external 12V power supply. It is equipped with a siren which can be switched on.
The model MEG-27 is a hand-held megaphone with a power of max. 25W. It is equipped with
a removable hand-held microphone which is firmly connected to the unit via a cable.
2 Operating Elementsand Connections
1. Locking clip for the battery compartment.
2. Cover for the battery compartment.
3. Microphone.
5. Talk button for the microphone: keep the button pressed while talking. The talk button at
the hand-held microphone can be locked in by sliding it into arrow direction: then the
microphone remains switched on.
6. Volume
control.
7. Switch for selecting the siren or fog horn.
3 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to the directive for electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
•
Attention
: Never operate the megaphone near the ear of another person! Due to the
amplified voice or a howling sound, damage to the hearing can be caused.
•
Never deposit the unit in humid environments, and protect it against excessive heat
(admissible operating temperature range 0 ° C - 40 °C).
•
Pay attention that no liquid penetrates into the unit.
•
For cleaning only use a dry or slightly moistened, soft cloth, by no means chemicals or
aggressive detergents.
•
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally intended, if it is connected in the
wrong way, not operated correctly or not repaired in an expert way, no liability for any
damage can be assumed.
•
Exhausted batteries must not be put into the domestic rubbish but only be disposed of as
special waste (e. g. container at your retailer).
•
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, it must be disposed of in a local
recycling plant.
4 Setting into Operation
The unit can alternatively be operated either via batteries or an external 12V power supply.
When connecting an external power supply, the inserted batteries are switched off.
4.1 Inserting of batteries
1) Release the locking clip (1) of the battery compartment, and fold up the battery
compartment cover (2).
2) Insert eight 1.5 V, “C” size batteries into the plastic supports of the battery compartment.
Observe the correct polarity (see imprint in the battery compartment).
3) Close the battery compartment cover again and lock it with the locking clip.
If not used for a longer time (e.g. more than three weeks), the batteries should be removed.
Thus, the unit will not be damaged in case the batteries should leak.
