Install Compression Fittings:
5. Install one of the threaded compression fittings into the “In”
port of the Filter Head Assembly and the other compression fit-
ting into the “Out” port of the Filter Head Assembly. Use a
wrench and tighten the two fittings into the filter housing head.
NOTE:
The “IN” and “OUT” ports are marked on the top of the
filter housing. See Figure 3.
Attach Tubing Assemblies:
6. Take one of the pieces of plastic tubing and slide a brass com-
pression nut over the end. Slide a white plastic compression
sleeve over the end of the tubing and into the nut. Place a brass
insert inside the end of the tubing. See Figure 4
7. Connect this plastic tubing assembly to the cold water inlet valve.
See Figure 5. Assemble the other end of this piece of plastic tub-
ing in the same way and connect it to the “In” port of the filter
housing head.
8. Find the faucet fitting and screw it onto the underside of the
faucet. Use Teflon™ tape to seal this connection. Take the sec-
ond piece of plastic tubing and another compression fitting and
connect it to the OUT port of the filter head. Screw the other
end of this tubing with a tubing assembly to the faucet fitting.
See Figure 6.
Test the System and Flush the Cartridge:
9. Tighten the bracket screws.
10. Open the cold water shut off valve slowly. Depress the pressure
relief button on the top of the unit to release excess air. See
Figure 7. Check for leaks at all the fittings. If there is a leak, close
the shut off valve, tighten the fittings and repeat the procedure
at the beginning of this step.
11. Open the cold water faucet and run the water for 30 minutes.
This will flush any fine particles of loose filter material out of the
cartridge.
NOTE:
Some trapped air may remain for the first few days of
operation.
