Connecting the DUT
Please follow the rules outlined in this section to ensure best measurement accuracy using
B

WIC and
B
‑
SMC
4.5.1
Avoid Leads and Large DUTs
Do not use extra leads to connect the DUT to the
B
‑
WIC and B
‑
SMC
test fixtures. Extra leads will
introduce stray capacitance to ground / housing. This can cause currents to bypass the internal
measurement bridge, causing errors in the measurement. The same is true for physically large DUTs.

4.5.2
Electrode Dimensions
The following pictures show the geometry of the
B
‑
WIC and B
‑
SMC
electrodes.
Maximum DUT wire diameter is 1.8 mm.
Minimum spacing of DUT wires (clearance) is
3 mm. The electrode length is 24 mm.
Maximum DUT size that can be placed in the
B-SMC is of 9.5 mm length and 7.5 mm width.
Note that the needle electrode is in the center.
