Basic Recording and Playback
The

(movie) button can be used for basic movie recording even in still
photography modes. The camera also offers a dedicated
n
(movie) mode for
advanced movie recording. Basic recording and playback operations are the same
in either case.
An Introduction to Movie Recording
You can fi lm movies using the camera’s dedicated
n
(movie) mode or perform
basic recording operations without ending still photography.
In both cases, shots can be framed in the viewfi nder or monitor. Use the monitor
if you want to focus by touching your subject in the display or reposition the focus
target during shooting. Movies are recorded using the
R
(movie) button.
Movie-related options and indicators can be displayed by rotating the mode dial to
select
n
(movie) mode.

settings unavailable in or different from
those that apply in still photography modes.
Choose this mode if you will primarily be
fi lming movies.
Still photography modes
Movies are fi lmed using program AE.
Choose these modes to fi lm movies during
