6. Operation
This chapter describes a typical operational sequence for the DELTA handheld XRF analyzer.
6.1
Typical Operating Procedure
To use the instrument
1.
Insert a charged battery into the analyzer handle.
2.
Turn on the analyzer using the I/O switch.
3.
Read the radiation safety notice (see ), and then confirm that you are a certified user.
System initialization begins immediately.
The analyzer launches a test screen using the last selected mode (see Figure 6-1 on page 15).
4.
If the mode is to be changed:
a)
Go to the
Home
screen.
b)
Select the Mode button.
c)
Choose the desired mode.

5.
When the “Cal Check Required” message is displayed, place the analyzer in the docking station.

Navigate to the
Test Setup
screen, and then tap the Cal Check button (see Figure 6-2 on page 16).
