Machine Preparation and Setup
WARNING!
The equipment used to lift this machine
must have a rated capacity at, or above the
weight of the jointer. Failure to comply
may cause serious injury!
The jointer must be positioned on a smooth,
level surface. The area must be well lit and
have plenty of room to maneuver with large
pieces of wood.
Level the jointer front to back and side to side
using a level placed on the table. Use shims
under the corners, if necessary, but make sure
the jointer is stable before being placed into
service.
Clean all rust protected surfaces with a
commercial solvent. Do not use acetone,
gasoline, lacquer thinner or any type of
flammable solvent, or a cleaner that may
damage paint. Cover cleaned surfaces with
WD-40 or a 20W machine oil.
