unplug the power cord. Wait a few seconds and switch it on again. It will take about 40
seconds for this reboot, then press the On/Off button on the front of your OPUS/MELODY
until the main menu is displayed again. Your stored music is not affected by this restart.
If these actions don’t do the trick, please follow the instructions of the next section.
Recovery CD
The OPUS shipment contains a Recovery CD, which can be used to restore a clean hard-drive
and operating system software to an OPUS. Please note that this process leads to the loss of
your music files, accompanying tag information as well as the CD reference database! If you have
not done a backup yet, now is the time to do it.
1. Power off the OPUS using the manual power switch.
2. Switch the OPUS on with the manual switch, at the same time pressing the OK and “play”
buttons. The display will then show a message asking to insert the Recovery CD.
3. Insert the Recovery CD. The OPUS will then proceed to start up using the operating system of
the CD, to reformat the hard-drive and to re-establish the system software. The initial boot
may take up to 10 minutes in this case.
4. After this process the OPUS is “fresh out of the box” and will start up as usual. though this.
If the Recovery CD is not of the latest release you should also check online for the newest
software release.
5. Now use the backup to restore the music, metadata and CD reference database to
the OPUS.
