Use of appliance by remote control
The remote control supplied with the appliance has been
designed with a robust frame and functions exceptionally
well, it should nonetheless be handled with care. The
following cautions should be observed:
- avoid exposing it to rain, spillling water on its numeric pad
or allowing it to fall in water,
- it should not undergo heavy blows or be allowed to fall
onto hard surfaces,
- do not expose it to the suns rays,
- do not place articles between the remote control and the
appliance while the former is in use.
Furthermore:
- the presence of other appliances operated by remote
control in the same environment (TV, radio, stereo systems,
etc.) may cause interference,
- electronic and fluorescent lamps may interfere with
communication between the remote control and appliance,
- take the batteries out should the remote control remain
out of use for a prolonged period of time.
Insertion of batteries
Two dry batteries LR03 1,5 V should be used in the remote
control (supplied with the appliance). Once the batteries are
dead they should be disposed of at the relevant collection
bins supplied by the Local Authorities. Both batteries must
be disposed of together. The batteries are inserted by
opening the little snap door at the back of the remote control
and are positioned according to the polarity signs at the
back of the opening (fig. 2). Once the batteries have been
inserted close the snap door.
Remote control configuration
The remote control acts as an interface between the user
and the appliance. It is therefore important to be familiar
with the parts which allow such an interface to take place
(fig. 3):
Switching on and general appliance management
To manage the appliance via the remote control, first it is
necessary to either close the general isolator on the power
supply line (the technician who installed the appliance will
be able to indicate its precise location) or insert the plug on
the appliance into the power supply socket.
Once the above-mentioned operations have been carried
out, the appliance may be used by remote control (or each
internal unit may be controlled independently in the case of
Multisplit) by following the below-mentioned steps.
To transmit commands to the internal unit the front part of
the remote control must be pointed at the internal unit’s
console. When the command has been received a buzzer
in the internal unit emits a note. Commands may be received
at a distance of up to approximately 8 meters maximum.
