3. Se#ng the eyepiece focus
Start adjus=ng the focus by placing the neutral focus ring close to the case
(see previous slide). Have your pa=ent look through the Falcon at the center
of an eye chart held about 40” (1.0m) away. Choose print several sizes above
their best acuity. Insert the eyepiece focus adjustment tool and rotate it to
move the eyepiece in or out un=l the image is in focus for the pa=ent.
Focusing the eyepiece ‘in’ corrects for myopia, ‘out’ for hyperopia. Now
confirm the focus at distance and refine the adjustment if needed. The
adjustable eyepiece will correct for refrac=ons up to +/- 8D.
