Connecting the Device
1)
Ensure power to load/panel has been turned off prior to connecting the Acqu
2)
The Acq should be connected to the mains voltages using a Disconnect switch or Circuit Breaker,
15 or 20A max to provide disconnect and overcurrent. The circuit breaker or disconnect switch should
be in an easy to access location near the Acq. Label the circuit breaker appropriately to indicate
that it serves the Acq.
3)
Connect the ground using 12-14 AWG bare or green wire to the lug on the grounding plate inside the
Acq.
Ground lug tightening torque: 2.3Nm (20ft-lbs)
4)
Connect the voltage leads to the phase conductors at a location that is not normally turned off. Connect
voltage leads on the Line side of the conductor to ensure constant power to the Acq. Wire
should be 12-14 AWG, Solid or stranded, rated to 600VAC, at 75c.
Screw Terminal tightening torque: 0.5Nm min, 0.6Nm max.
5)
Snap the CT onto the conductor. Connect CTs to the corresponding phase as labeled on the board near
the terminals of the Acq and be sure to mind proper load orientation labels on the CT.
Screw Terminal tightening torque: 0.5Nm min, 0.6Nm max.
6)
Once leads have been connected, secure all monitored equipment back to its original state.
7)
Restore power to the load/panel
Service Notes:
Should it be necessary to open the wiring access door on the Acq to change or add wiring, turn off
the disconnect switch or circuit breaker before opening the service door.
Note: If cleaning is required, use a dry towel to remove dust from the Acq. Do not use fluids to clean
the Acq.
