8.1 Troubleshooting
1. Q: What can I do if the system does not detect the HDD?
A: Verify that the power and data cables are properly connected to the HDD. Verify that the
HDD is supported by the system hardware; check the system specifications. Lastly, the HDD
may be failing.
2. Q: I have changed the password but forget the new password, how can I access the
system?
A: If you forget the system password, please contact our technical support personnel. We
strongly suggest that you set an administrator password that is strong and easy to remember.
Keep a copy of the password in a secure location.
3. Q: We see abnormal video signal or even no video signal by connecting the NVR and
camera together. Power supply for both devices is OK. What is wrong?
A: Check network cable at NVR end to verify that it is firmly connected and in good condition.
Also, verify that the system is using only the NTSC
or PAL format.
4. Q: How do I prevent Wire-Free NVR from being influenced by heat?
A: The NVR dissipates heat while it is running. Always locate the NVR in a place with good air
circulation and away from heat sources. This will help ensure system stability and extend the life
of the NVR.
5. Q: I want to take out HDD from my PC and install it in NVR. Will it work?
A: All HDDs supported by the system can be used. But remember, once the NVR run is used,
data on your HDD will be lost.
6. Q: Can I use playback while recording?
A: Yes. The system can play video while recording video.
7. Q: Can I clear some records on HDD of NVR?
A: In consideration of the file security, you may not clear part of records. If you want to remove
all records, format the HDD.
8. Q: Why can’t I log in to the NVR client?
A: Verify that the network settings are correct and the network cable is making good contact to
the RJ-45 port. Also, verify that your username and password are entered correctly.
