Product description
Surge protection device for equipotential bonding
of power supply systems according to VDE 0100-
443 (IEC 60364-4-44). For mounting on hat rails
and use in distributor housings. Arresters (Figure
1
) can be connected individually and are en-
coded on the rear side, in order to avoid incorrect
connection. They possess a thermodynamic cut-
off unit and have an arresting capacity of up to 40
kA (8/20) per pole.
If there is an error, the visual display switches
from green (grey) to red (Figure ).
With snap-on hat rail bracket (Figure
2
).
The spark gap C20-0-255 is intended as an ar-
rester between the neutral conductor N and the
protective conductor (PE conductor).
Only V20-..+FS..:
With module for remote sig-
nalling through potential-free changeover contact
(Figure ).
Target group
The device may only be mounted and connected
by an electrical technician.
General safety information
• Before working on power cables, ensure that
they are de-energised and secure them against
unintentional switch-on!
• Do not carry out mounting work during a storm!
• Comply with national laws and standards, e.g.
VDE 0100-534 (IEC 60364-5-53)!
Mounting and installation
The device can be installed in any position (e.g.
vertical or horizontal).
Figure
: VDE 0100-534 (IEC 60364-5-53)
specifies that,
– in the case of single-branch wiring,
1
the total
connection length a + b
– or, in the case of V wiring,
2
the connection
length c
should never exceed 0.5 m.
For V wiring, use the connection terminal, item
no. 5012 010.
Caution! Risk of overloading!
The connection terminal 5012 010 is
approved for a maximum current load ≤ 50
A.
Use a suitable back-up fuse!
• Clamp the protection device onto the hat rail,
ensuring that the lockable hat rail holder is un-
locked (Figure
2
).
• Maintain the stripping length and tightening
torque (Figure ).
• Connection according to the circuit diagram
(TN systems or TN-S / TT systems).
Dismantling
Figure :
• Unlock and remove arresters in the manner
shown.
• Open the hat rail holder with a flat screwdriver
and engage it (see also Figure
2
). Remove
the protection devices.
