Before use
Before the toaster is used for the first time, read through the instruction manual carefully and
save it for future use.
Use
Place your toaster on a heat resistant, flat surface. Put the main plug in the wall socket.
Before the toaster is used for the first time, it should be heated up without bread one time in
order to remove all residues. Adjust the heat setting to position 2 and press the bread car-
riage lever down. The bread carriage lever will automatically eject after a short time and the
toaster is then ready to be used.
Set the thermostat to the desired position. There are six positions, where position 1 is the
lowest toast level and 6 is the highest toast level. The higher the position is, the longer the
toasting time. Dry bread toasts faster than fresh bread. Insert slices of bread and press the
bread carriage lever down until it locks into position.
IMPORTANT!
The bread carriage lever cannot be locked into position if the appliance is not
connected to the outlet.
When the toasting cycle is completed the toast is automatically ejected, the carriage level
goes back to the top position and the heating element is automatically switched off. If it´s
difficult to reach, you can use the “high rise” function: the bread carriage lever can be lifted
upwards a bit and the bread will be easier to grip.
Setting for toasting 2 or 4 slices (only model 2237)
Choose if you like to toast 2 or 4 slices by pressing the button on the front side of the toaster.
The button should be pressed down if you want to toast 4 slices, if you desire 2 slices release
the button.
WARNING!
Bread can catch on fire. Never leave the toaster unguarded during use. Do not
place the toaster near wood, under curtains, or near other materials that easily catches fire.
The threads in the heating element might expand some during use, and the heat will make
them red. This is normal and do not affect the final result.
Following functions are possible:
REHEAT
This function is used when you wish to reheat already toasted bread. Insert the bread, press
down the bread carriage level, and press the REHEAT button on the front side of the toaster.
The bread is being heated, not further toasted. Wait until the carriage lever automatically
ejects.
