Planting up the biOrb air
Prerequisite
•
The automatic misting unit has been removed.
Preparing the coir compost
How to proceed:
E
1.
Place the piece of coir compost in approx. 3 litres of
water and leave it there for approx. 30 minutes until
the coir compost has absorbed all the water.
2.
Break up the coir compost and uniformly distribute
it on the capillary matting.
Planting up the coir compost
A high, medium or low plant density can be planted on
the compost.
How to proceed:

1.
Add plants to the coir compost.
2.
Carefully (taking care not to scratch the acrylic
glass!) pour half a litre of water inside the bottom
part of the Acrylic globe and around the edge of the
coir substrate until the water reaches the intended
height on the water level indicator.
3.
Check and, if necessary, top up the water to the in-
tended height after 24 h.
COMMISSIONING/START-UP
Filling the automatic misting unit
N O T E
•
Use the supplied HumidiMist only. It is ph neutral,
and free of calcium and mineral compounds.
•
Using different agents may lead to staining of the
acrylic glass or a reduction of its transparency.
Prerequisite
•
biOrb AIR 60 lid is open.
How to proceed:

1.
Remove the cover from the misting reservoir.
2.
Carefully top up HumidiMist until you reach the top
of the overflow pipe.

Ensure that the plug of the automatic misting unit
remains dry.
3.
Replace the cover of the misting reservoir.
4.
Close the biOrb AIR 60 lid.
Inserting/changing the mains connection adapters
How to proceed:

1.
Insert the mains connection adapter suitable for the
socket into the guide socket of the plug-in power
pack until the adapter engages audibly with a click.
2.
Changing the mains connection adapter: Press the
locking button and simultaneously push the adapter
out of the guide socket.
3.
Insert a different mains connection adapter.
Switching ON/OFF
When it is first switched on,
•
the lighting lights up and reaches max. brightness in
15 s. The 24 hour rhythm has to be started sepa-
rately

•
the fan starts at medium speed,
•
the AIR will mist automatically and as required to
maintain a medium humidity level. You can also
manually mist, by briefly pressing the adjustment
button at any time.
Each of these automatic settings can be changed.

How to proceed:

1.
Insert the the plug into the cover ring.
2.
Switching on
: Insert the plug-in power pack into the
socket.
3.
Ensure that the cable forms a drip loop.

The automatic misting unit and the fan will switch
on immediately.
4.
Switching off
: Disconnect the plug-in power pack.
OPERATION
The combination of the sensor-controlled automatic
misting unit and the fan ensures suitable humidifica-
tion of the plants and can be adjusted according to the
plant density.

•
The power supply is connected.
Messages/displays
When the lights flash as shown below, this indicates
the following conditions.
•
Once per hour, the lighting switches from light to
dark: HumidiMist needs to be topped up.
•
The lighting flashes continuously. The automatic
misting unit is not functioning, the plug of the hu-
midification unit is not correctly inserted.
