Special safety instructions
CAUTION
Always secure the workpiece if possible: Use clamps or a vise
to hold the workpiece securely. This is far safer than holding it
in your hand and also means that you have both hands free to
operate the electric tool.
•
Ensure that there are no foreign objects adhering to the
workpiece in order to avoid damaging the electric hand plane.
•
Hold the tool by its handle using both hands and place the
front base plate of the plane on the workpiece. The base
plates must evenly rest on the workpiece during the planing
process.
•
Allow the tool to reach its maximum operating speed
before you start to plane.
•
Let the plane run to a complete stop before you set the
tool down. An exposed knife block can catch the surface,
lead to loss of control and, ultimately, serious injury.
•
Set the planing depth to 0 mm when you have finished
working.
•
Replace used planing knives with a set of new knives
when worn down.
•
Some types of planing knives have two blades.
When one blade has become blunt, the planing knife can
be turned over.
•
Blunt planing knives cannot be resharpened.
•
Always ensure that you replace both knives at the same
time.
•
Only the original, manufacturer-approved knife block may
be used for this electric hand plane.
•
Always use only clean and sharp planing knives to ensure
professional, safe results.
