16. Maintenance
The value of your brake test stand is preserved if you perform
regular maintenance work.
The operating staff is obliged to carry out the following mainten-
ance work:
Daily before the initial start-up of the brake test stand:
1. Inspection of the safety device of the working pit (applies only
to Germany)
2. Zero point compensation in case of large temperature fluctu-
ations
Weekly
Zero point compensation in case of low temperature fluctuations
Yearly
1. Inspection of the safety device of the working pit
2. Change brake fluid in the hydraulic hoses of the radio pressure
sensors and bleed hydraulic hoses.

Brake fluid is hazardous waste (according to the waste
disposal catalogue, it has the No. 55 356, category II).
Brake fluid must be collected and disposed of separate
from waste oil.
We recommend you to close a maintenance contract with the
Nussbaum customer service. -By this, it is guaranteed that the
brake test stand features high operating safety, reliability and the
prescribed measuring accuracy.
We recommend to perform the maintenance in the following time
intervals:
Monthly vehicle throughput up to 100 vehicles = semi-annually
Monthly vehicle throughput up to 200 vehicles = quarterly
Assembly line service (e.g. technical inspection office) = every 1
1/2 to 2 months
The following items are to be checked in the scope of mainten-
ance:
- Test rollers
- Test stand mountings and welding points
- Switching lever with touch roller
- Driving chain
- Mounting screws
- Operating safety
- Electrical safety
All maintenance work must be carried out by experts and has to
be recorded.
It is mandatory to perform the routine check test in the Federal
Republic of Germany.
Performing the routine check test
The routine check test must be carried out before commissioning.
It must be repeated every 2 years.
The routing check test must be performed after a test stand repair
if components relevant for measuring were repaired.
All necessary works are listed in the test instructions „Scope of
work of the routine check test“ 1 689 980 195N.
This inspection has to be performed by an expert.
The results must be documented in the test report 1 689 980
164N.
For the necessary proof, we recommend you the EE maintenance
book 1 689 980 241N in connection with the device certificate
for Nussbaum brake test stands 1 689 980 291N.
-Defects identified in the routine check test must be removed
immediately .

The brake test stand must not be used for brake tests
according to §29 StVZO and the Appendix VIII StVZO in
connection with § 41 StVZO before the correction of
defects. Routine check tests must be performed again
within 4 weeks.
The date for the next routine check test must be indicated on a
suitable position clearly visible on the test stand. Use the adhesive
label 1 689 980 165N for this.
