Installation
The FW106 FireWire Repeater Hub will make a connection between as many as 63 FireWire compatible peripheral devices and a
host computer with a FireWire socket installed in a PC or MAC style computer. All devices can be hot-plugged so disconnecting
power is not necessary.
1. Connect the jack from the 12VDC power adapter to the power socket on the FW106 FireWire Repeater Hub. (See Fig. 1) Plug
the power adapter into a 120VAC receptacle. The Red LED on the FireWire Repeater Hub will illuminate. (See Fig. 2)
2. Connect one end of the 6-pin to 6-pin 4.5 meter FireWire cable provided (see Fig. 1a) to a FireWire port on the host computer.
NOTE: DO NOT USE the 4-pin to 6-pin cable to connect the host computer to the FW106 FireWire Repeater Hub. Connect
the other end of the FireWire cable to a FireWire port on the FireWire Repeater Hub (see Fig. 1). Once the host computer
(or any peripheral component) is connected to the hub, the Green LED on the hub will illuminate. The Green LED indicates
that a cable from a powered-on device is connected to one of the FireWire Repeater Hub ports.
Note: Fig. 1 shows the FireWire host computer connection being made to a port on the same side as the power connector. The
host computer will actually function properly with a connection made on any of the five 6-wire ports on the hub.
