6.4 Power Supply Connections
The LCD-160’s 24 VDC power source must be
regulated, filtered, non-resettable, and listed for fire-
protective signalling use. Sources include main power
supplies (such as the AMPS-24), auxiliary power
supplies (such as the APS-6R), and panels with
intergrated power supplies (such as the NFS-640). If
RDP devices are to be powered by separate power
supplies, a common reference connection must be
established, see Figure 12 on page 22. To maintain
proper supervision, only one supply can have ground
fault detection enabled.
The power run to the LCD-160 need not contain a
Power Supervision Relay because loss of power is
inherently supervised through communication loss
(loss of RDP communication is registered at the control
panel during loss of power to the LCD-160).
