BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
As a safety measure, your '50s-STYLE WATER KETTLE is eqipped with boil-dry protection.
Should you accidentally operate the unit without water, it will automatically switch off. If
this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and then boil the water.
KETTLE AND RED INDICATOR LIGHT DO NOT WORK
Make sure the kettle is seated properly on the Base and that the
power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
Water or debris on the bottom of the kettle or on the Base may
interfere with the functioning of the kettle. Be sure the bottom
of the kettle and the Base are dry and free of debris.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
1.
Make sure appliance is turned off, unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning.
2.
Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a damp, non-abrasive cloth, taking
care to avoid all electrical components. Use a soft cloth to dry.
3.
Wipe the interior of the kettle with a wet, non-abrasive cloth or
sponge and dry thoroughly with a soft, non-abrasive towel.
NOTE: To protect against electrical shock and damaging the
appliance, do nto immerse the cord, plug or unit in any liquid. Never
place any parts in the dishwasher. Always wash by hand.
Mineral Deposits / Decalcifying
Minerals found in water, such as calcium and limstone, may leave
deposits in your kettle. It's recommended that you occasionally
clean the mineral deposits from the interior of your kettle.
1.
To clean the mineral deposits from the interior of your kettle, fill
the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with
water. Allow the mixture to sit overnight. DO NOT BOIL.
2.
Empty the solution from the kettle.
3.
Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by
rubbing with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
4.
Lastly, fill the kettle with clean water, bring to a boil, and then discard. Repeat once more.
Now your '50s-STYLE WATER KETTLE is ready to use again!
